Mock Patient Move This Weekend Will Help Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Prepare for Move to New Hospital in May

WHAT: Nurses, physicians and other staff at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC will conduct a mock patient move in preparation for the hospital’s move to its new Lawrenceville campus in May 2009.
The patient move team will simulate patient transport, taking mannequins from the patient floors at Children’s Hospital in Oakland to waiting ambulances to be transported to the new hospital in Lawrenceville.
WHY: The drill is being conducted to help prepare the team that is expecting to transport approximately 150 patients when Children’s conducts its actual patient move on May 2, 2009.
WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009
