Children’s Caring for the Tiniest Hearts Closer to Home for Latrobe and Greensburg Residents
Children’s Heart Center expands hours in Latrobe and opens new office in Greensburg
Pittsburgh, Pa. -
November 6, 2007
-
Experts from the Heart Center at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC are increasing access to state-of-the-art cardiac care for families from Latrobe and Greensburg.
By providing expanded and new pediatric cardiac services in Latrobe and Greensburg, families will now have access to all of the services offered at Children’s. Bryan Funari, MD, is now joining Frederick Sherman, MD, in the Latrobe office to offer care by experts from the Heart Center at Children’s, which is one of the nation’s leading pediatric cardiac care facilities, with more than 24,000 patient visits a year.
Drs. Sherman and Funari see children of all ages, every other Wednesday, with any type of heart problem, including heart murmurs, chest pain, fainting, palpitations and high blood pressure. Opened on Nov. 1, the Greensburg office is staffed by Dr. Funari every Tuesday and offers access to all the services and expertise of Children’s Heart Center.
“Both of these areas are very important locations for the Heart Center,” said Steven A. Webber, MBChB, chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. “Dr. Sherman has been providing excellent cardiology care for the Latrobe area for many years and the addition of Dr. Funari at this office allows us to accept additional patients and improve accessibility to a wider array of patients and their parents. Opening an office in Greensburg will also make it more convenient for parents in this region to access the expertise of our pediatric cardiologists.”
