Neurology residents at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC also enjoy the added benefits of a book/travel allowance and free access to all University of Pittsburgh facilities. All Children’s Hospital residents and fellows have access to recreational facilities and sporting events at the University of Pittsburgh. Access to the University’s gym, racquetball courts and swimming pool is free.

1. Salary: The following salary levels have been approved for residents and fellows who will be training with UPMCMEP residency/fellowship programs July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.

2. Health Insurance: The health insurance plan for the trainee and his/her eligible dependent(s) is UPMC Health Plan Enhanced Access HMO Health Insurance.

3. Dental Insurance: Dental insurance if the trainee elects to participate is United Concordia.

4. Vacation: Three weeks vacation is provided.  Requests are subject to approval.

5. Life Insurance: Life insurance coverage is provided to the nearest $1,000 above the annual stipend and includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment.

6. Disability Insurance: Paid short-term disability of up to 12 weeks of complete disability is provided. The trainee must provide proof that (s)he is disabled and under the care of a physician.

Long-term disability insurance coverage also is provided.

7. Professional Liability Insurance: Coverage is provided in accordance with Pennsylvania state mandated levels of coverage by Tri-Century Insurance.
