Combined Pediatric Training Programs
Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program
The Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program (Med-Peds) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC combines experiences from categorical medicine and pediatric programs with equivalent national reputations. Med-Peds residents are fully integrated into the pediatric residency program while at the same time, maintain a strong Med-Peds identity. While rotating at Children’s Hospital, residents are exposed to a large volume and mix of pediatric patients and have the opportunity to rotate through general pediatrics services, subspecialty services, emergency room, PICU, and NICU. For more information on the program visit the Med-Peds website.
Triple Board Program
The University of Pittsburgh Triple Board Program (TBP) brings together premier programs in pediatrics, general child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as clinical and research strengths at the interface of these fields. Each component is outstanding in its own right, and we have created an integrated training experience that builds upon these strengths. Triple board residents are fully integrated into pediatrics, psychiatry, and child psychiatry programs. Residents are also able to create a strong triple board identity throughout their training. For more information about this program visit Pittsburgh’s Triple Board Program website.
