About Children's
Family-Centered Care
The new Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is committed to making a visit to the hospital or a hospital stay easier for our young patients and their families. We know that families are an integral part to a child's well-being. They offer a sense of normalcy and encouragement that can only be found in the people who love this child the most. For that reason, we are committed to building a place that is warm and welcoming, a place that delivers exceptional care and a place that will seem a little like home.
Our new hospital design is based on ideas and suggestions from patients, family members, and our caregivers. By listening to their advice, we've designed a family-centered facility committed to treating the physical and emotional aspects of our patients and those closest to them.
Here are a few examples of our family-centered care features:
- Private rooms that create a more homelike environment
- Inviting colors and soft fabrics
