Biography Summary

Dr. Painter, immediate past chief of Children’s Division of Child Neurology, lectures at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he is a research and career advisor. He sees patients at the hospital in Oakland and at Children’s North in Wexford.

Internationally known for his work on seizures in newborn babies, Dr. Painter is the immediate past president of the national Child Neurology Society. A past president of the national Professors of Child Neurology, Dr. Painter has served on leadership committees of the Child Neurology Society, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Pediatrics and American Academy of Neurology.
