Research Program
The final 18 months of the NDD program consists of continuity clinics at CHP, electives, an individualized mentored research experiences, and graduate courses. Clinical research activities within the division and at the UPMC academic community are rich and diverse. A research project is required of all residents in the program. Residents are paired with mentors during the first year of the program, and the mentor assists the resident in developing a project that can be completed during the program. The project can be clinical or laboratory based. Residents are encouraged to prepare their projects for presentation at national meetings and for publication.
