About Children's
Student Externship Program
The Student Externship Program provides learning opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and vocational/technical school students. It is generally a one-time, school-sponsored 'unpaid' work or service experience to develop career-specific skills. "School-sponsored" specifically indicates that the student will receive school credit for completing the externship and/or advance or finish a course of study by completing the externship. A School/Affiliation Agreement between Children's Hospital and the school is required.
At a minimum, all students must comply with Act 33/34 and Act 73 requirements (Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Criminal Background Check) and meet tuberculin (TB) testing requirements before the externship begins. Follow the links below for further information about the program.
