Research
Student Research Training Program
The Summer Student Research Training Program provides training for undergraduate, graduate and medical students in Health Sciences who wish to learn the rationale, design strategies, methods and other aspects of biomedical research as research assistants.
Participants engage in studies under the direct supervision of investigators who are members of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC's faculty and staff. In addition to the educational benefits, research assistants are also compensated.
The summer 2012 program will run from Monday, June 4, 2012, to Friday, July 27, 2012. Student researchers will have the opportunity to present the results of their research in the form of a mandatory poster presentation on July 27, 2012.
In order to apply for the 2012 Summer Student Research Training Program, you will need to complete a two-step application process. Only when both steps have been completed will your application and information be considered for the program. The details are as follows:
Step 1: Complete the "Student Research Training Program Application" form attached to the right of this website under the Related Information subheading. Complete the form in its entirety. Once completed, please return you're your application as instructed on the form. Proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Please click on the "UPMC Job Listings" button below. You will be connected to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) job site. Follow the preceding bulleted instructions to view and apply to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Summer Student Research Program.
- Click on the "Quick Search UPMC Jobs" button
- Click on the "advanced search" link under the keyword search box
- In the "Job Opening ID" field type the following number 2010801 and click "search"
- Proceed with the online application process. Be sure to answer all questions in detail
Applications for the 2012 program will only be accepted if both steps are completed by March 1, 2012. Selected candidates will be notified by April 15, 2012.
