TRIGR: Type 1 Diabetes Study
Protocol Description
This study is an international study to determine a possible link between infant nutrition and the development of type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent diabetes). This study is administered through the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Eligibility Criteria
Pregnant women with type 1 diabetes or whose partner or child has type 1 diabetes will be eligible. The study should not interfere with the mother’s desire to breast feed.
Requirements
Study requires blood tests for participants.
Study formula provided at no cost to participant.
Duration: 10 years
