Telephone Triage & Advice Center
Description of Services
The Telephone Triage & Advice Center provides evening, night and weekend on-call coverage for primary care physicians (PCPs) by enabling pediatric registered nurses to serve in an on-call capacity. The Nursing staff functions as an extension of the primary care pediatricians’ practices by triaging all physicians’ after-hours clinical calls in accordance with approved telephone protocols. All telephone encounters are documented with a detailed patient assessment and recommenced protocol advice and are faxed to the child’s PCP.
The Telephone Triage & Advice Center provides on-call coverage for more than 140 primary care physicians throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. It also functions as the Pediatric Advice Line for UPMC Health Plan.
For more information regarding the Telephone Triage & Advice Center services and hours of operation, contact Rose Moon at 412-390-3367 or via e-mail at rose.moon@chp.edu.
