Referral Requirements
Referral from a primary care provider may be required depending on the patient’s insurance. If required, the referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient’s visit. Patients may call 412-692-6677 or contact their insurance plan directly for further information.
Parental permission is not required for the evaluation and treatment of sexual health care concerns, including family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy testing, and initial evaluation of alcohol and other drug problems. Young adults are eligible to receive these reproductive health services with no or minimal charge regardless of insurance status.
Gynecologic consults, colposcopy and cryosurgery are done by referral under the supervision of a board-certified gynecologist on-site. Parental permission is required for colposcopy and cryosurgery; exceptions may be made after consultation with the medical staff.
