Our Services
Preventive Cardiology
Description of Services
Preventive Cardiology aims to identify and medically manage cholesterol and blood pressure problems early in life, with the goal of preventing heart attack or stroke later in life. It evaluates and treats children who have been diagnosed with or are at risk for conditions including hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia or hypertension.
Comprehensive evaluation and recommendations are made by an expert team, including a clinical dietitian.
Referral Requirements
Referrals are required from primary care physicians or other Children’s Hospital specialty services. Referrals for patients enrolled in managed care insurance plans also may require authorization from the insurance provider and primary care physician. All necessary referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient’s visit. For accurate provider numbers or more information, please call the office number listed below for further information and appointments.
