Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Grows Access to Outpatient Services in Johnstown Region with Move to New Location

Pittsburgh, PA - July 12, 2012 -

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is improving access to its pediatric specialists for families in the Altoona and Johnstown regions with a move to a new location.

This week, Children’s Specialty Care Center Johnstown opened a new location at 865 Eisenhower Blvd., only blocks from its former location. The move will accommodate increased access to Children’s Hospital specialists because of an increase in the availability of clinic space.

Outpatient services offered at Children’s Specialty Care Center Johnstown are:

• Cardiology
• Endocrinology
• General and Thoracic Surgery
• Gastroenterology
• Neurology
• Nephrology
• Otolaryngology
• Pulmonary Medicine

“Children’s is committed to providing families from the Altoona and Johnstown regions access to the same physicians and staff from Pittsburgh — at a location that is convenient and close to home,” said Kathy Guatteri, vice president, Outpatient Services at Children’s Hospital. “We opened Children’s Specialty Care Center Johnstown in 2007, and since that time an increasing number of families have come to rely on our outpatient services. As the need has increased, we recognized that we needed to move to this new location to accommodate families.”

In addition to Children’s Johnstown, Children’s operates two other specialty care centers in Hermitage and Wheeling. Children’s will open two additional specialty care centers later this summer in Erie and Chippewa.
