U.S. News & World Report’s New “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” Ranking Names Children’s One of the Best in the Nation
Pittsburgh, Pa. -
August 27, 2007
-
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC has been named one of the best pediatric hospitals in the United States by U.S. News & World Report in its newly redesigned “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” issue.
Children’s is ranked 13th among 113 of the country’s top pediatric hospitals. U.S. News ranked the top 30 in the new issue.
“National recognitions like this exemplify all of the hard work our employees and staff do on behalf of our patients and their families,” said Roger A. Oxendale, Children’s president and CEO. “Without the continued dedication of the employees and staff, and their continued willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty every single day, our patients would not be able to receive the high-quality care we provide them. All of Children’s staff members should be proud of this ranking, because they are what make Children’s what it truly is.”
Earlier this year, Child magazine ranked Children’s as one of the best 25 pediatric hospitals in the country.
The Sept. 3 issue of U.S. News with the rankings will be on newsstands Monday, Aug. 27.
The postings also will be available online beginning Friday, Aug. 24, at www.health.usnews.com.
