Dan Marino, Jamie Lee Curtis and an Extraordinary Asian-Inspired Fund-Raiser To Benefit Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh
Children's Gala is one of the most successful single-night fund-raising events in the country
Pittsburgh, Pa. -

What do football superstar Dan Marino, 9-foot-tall Buddhas, award-winning actress and children's book author Jamie Lee Curtis and a trickling lily pad dance floor all have in common?
They are all part of one of the most successful single-night fund-raising events in the country - the Bonsai Bash Gala of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
An evening fitting for the hottest spots in LA or New York, the event will be the talk of the town! The moment guests enter they will be taken into another world - one of authentic Asian sophistication and style.
With Dan and Claire Marino, Children's long-time friend Jamie Lee Curtis and the more than 1,000 guests on hand -- this year's event is filled with Asian elegance all to benefit the children and families from across the United States who come to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for care.
Guests will be greeted by Samurai warriors and authentic Japanese drummers. The setting will be extraordinary, including elegant Asian-style bars separated by red bamboo shoots. The white "Zen" lounge will be complete with majestic fabric-woven ceilings and 74-foot-long Asian boxes that suspend from the ceiling, spilling white orchids onto sharing tables. Guests will dance the night away atop a dance floor complete with river rock, trickling water and lily pads.
What: Bonsai Bash
When: Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, beginning at 6 p.m.
Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Proceeds from this year's event ensure outstanding care for all children at one of the best pediatric hospitals in the world. Part of the proceeds will benefit Autism research and programs at Children's. Autism is one of the fastest growing developmental disabilities and is the third most-common childhood disorder after juvenile diabetes and cancer.
