Riverside Design Group Creates New Plates with Purpose™ Designs Benefiting Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC
Pittsburgh, Pa. -
September 25, 2008
-
Riverside Design Group has created its new Plates With Purpose™ designs, with 15 percent of all sales proceeds benefiting Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the hospital’s most urgent needs.
Plates With Purpose™ is a partnership with non-profit organizations to create custom glassware that artistically reflects each organization’s mission and Riverside’s desire to give back to the community and create a more compassionate world.
Riverside’s own family connection to Children’s helped to pave the way for a Plates With Purpose™ partnership. The creative director was treated at the hospital during her youth.
Cassandra Ott designed each of the four plates, the first of the Plates With Purpose™ series to be created as a set. The symbols Ms. Ott chose – holly, fern, rosebud with leaves, and the oak tree with acorn – represent the seasons of winter, spring, summer and fall, respectively. Additionally, each of these healing botanicals bears inspirational properties such as courage, endurance, hope and strength.
“Since we began designing glassware, Riverside has looked for opportunities to give back to our community and the organizations that we believe in,” said Mary Irwin-Scott, president of Riverside Design Group. “We are excited to partner with this vital organization to help to make a difference in the lives of the children and families that they serve.”
