Fellowship Application Eligibility Criteria
- MD (Medical Degree) or equivalent
- US Citizenship, Canadian Citizenship, or permanent resident status in the US is preferred.
- For Non-Citizens: We will consider applicants who carry J-1 visas on a case-by-case basis (please send your CV for review).
- Expectation of satisfactory completion of requirements for Certification in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC participates in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). You must register with the NRMP and provide us with your NRMP number.
- Need to obtain a PA Graduate Medical Training (MT) License prior to starting. This is not the same as a license to practice medicine (MD). You will receive instructions on how to apply for this approximately 6 months prior to the start date. (The State will not provide applications to anyone, but a hospital or university).

Application Process Opens September 1, 2009
Step 1: Send a copy of your Curriculum Vitae for review.
Download and fill out the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Application Form.
Send the following items via e-mail, regular mail or fax to complete your application:
- Cover Letter/Personal Statement
- Original Medical School Transcript of Grades
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from your Residency Program Director or Department’s Chairperson
- USMLE Scores
- Citizenship status or Visa certificate
- A current photograph
- NRMP #: Please register with the National Residency Match Program (NRMP): http://www.nrmp.org
Step 2: Once applications are fully completed, they will be reviewed. A select group of prospective applicants will then be invited to interview at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
