Biologic Studies of Organ Failure and Transplantation
Protocol Description
This study involves collection and storage of the tissues, saliva, urine, stool, other bodily secretions and blood of patients being treated by the Hillman Center for Pediatric Transplantation at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Gathering information on many patients may provide doctors and researchers with a more complete picture of how transplantation and organ failure affect children and their families.
Eligibility Criteria
Male and female patients of all ages who are being treated at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC who are scheduled to have an endoscopy, liver biopsy or blood draw for clinical purposes.
Males: All ages
Females: All ages
Requirements
Samples will be collected through normal clinical care procedures, so no special visits or procedures will be required.
Visits: None beyond clinical care
