Biography Summary
As a clinician in the Child Development Unit at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Cynthia Milberger MA, NCSP, provides diagnostic developmental assessments for children with a range of developmental and behavioral concerns. This role includes making appropriate recommendations for supportive services in the community and through the school to meet the individual child's and families' needs and helping parents to understand their child's needs and/or diagnosis.
Ms. Milberger is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with extensive experience in providing diagnostic evaluations for children in the preschool and early childhood age range with a range of developmental and behavioral issues. She has a particular interest in autism spectrum disorders and broad knowledge of the early intervention system. Ms. Milberger also has extensive experience and knowledge of special education services for elementary aged children.
Prior to her work at the Child Development Unit she was employed for many years by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit where she served as a psychologist with the Early Childhood and Family Support Services/DART Program providing developmental evaluations for early intervention eligibility, conducting behavioral assessments, serving as a consultant to classroom teachers and parents to develop effective behavioral interventions, participating in IEP development, providing parent education programs and staff in-service.
