A Message From The Chair

The accomplishments of the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 2006–2007 are reported here.

Hospital of Pittsburgh, over the time period from fiscal year 2000–2005 indicates that it is the fastest-growing pediatric research program in the country, with a compound annual growth rate close to 20 percent. Financial results also were outstanding, permitting faculty compensation to reach the 70th percentile compared to comparable academic pediatric departments in the Northeast.

I am proud to introduce the accomplishments of the Department in the following annual report, and I hope you will enjoy reading about them.
