Research Interests
Dr. Deutsch, has a strong interest in the treatment of childhood brain tumors. He is the author of the book “The Management of Childhood Brain Tumors” and was the first to demonstrate the importance of spinal cord imaging and cerebral spinal fluid cytology in all newly diagnosed patients with medulloblastoma. As the result of this work, all newly diagnosed children with various brain tumors known to spread via cerebrospinal fluid pathways are evaluated by spinal cord imaging and cerebrospinal fluid cytology prior to treatment. In addition, he is the author of at least 35 articles and several chapters concerning pediatric tumors.
