Educational Curriculum

Morning Report
Senior or Intern Morning Report is held three times a week. A case is presented by the overnight team, highlighting an interesting diagnosis or management dilemma. It is led by the chief residents and attended by multiple faculty members.

Grand Rounds
These informative weekly sessions sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics include a combination of faculty and visiting speakers discussing the latest developments in pediatric research.

Chairman's Rounds
Every Friday morning, one senior resident presents a challenging pediatric case. Residents develop a differential, initial work up, and management. The conference is attended by at least one representative from each sub-specialty division and is moderated by the Chairman of Pediatrics. This has become one of the most popular conferences as it allows residents to hear multiple perspectives on difficult cases.

Noon Conferences
These conferences are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. There is a three year curriculum that spans topics from general pediatrics to intensive care. The curriculum is diverse and in addition to multiple medical topics, it includes a teaching series, CORE resident lecture series, ICU Jeopardy, ethics, and many more.

Board Review
Weekly session led by the teaching resident, reviewing board-style questions in an interactive format. The topics are chosen based on the content specifications of the American Board of Pediatrics Certifying Exam.

Intern Boot Camp
This is a weekly intern-only session, focusing on the basics of in-patient pediatrics. This series is coordinated by the intern class themselves.

Specialty Conferences
During the ED, NICU, PICU, Continuity Clinic, and Adolescent Clinic blocks, residents attend didactics on rotation specific topics.
