Eugene S. Wiener, MD, Award for Outstanding Contributions to Pediatric Health Care
The Physician Alumni Association of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation are pleased to invite nominations for the first Eugene S. Wiener, MD, Award for Outstanding Contributions to Pediatric Health Care, in remembrance of the life and gifts of our colleague and friend. The award is made possible through the generous outpouring from patient families, staff and colleagues across the country as well as Gene’s sons, Jeff and Justin Wiener.Award Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate some or all of the following:
- A deep commitment to patients and families and a constant striving for improved outcomes.
- Passionate advocacy, particularly in pursuit of patient safety.
- Leadership, communicating a vision, bringing together disciplines and motivating through example.
- Recognition for professional standards by those outside the institution.
Priority will be given to current faculty and alumni, but nominees with no formal Children’s affiliation also will be considered.
