Ewing Sarcoma Study

A Groupwide Biology and Banking Study for Ewing Sarcoma

Protocol Description

This study tests tumor and body tissue of patients who have Ewing sarcoma, a malignant primary bone tumor that usually develops between birth and early adulthood. Treatment requires chemotherapy and surgery. Some patients also need to receive radiation therapy. Through tissue banking of blood and marrow samples taken through routine testing, researchers hope to learn more about genetic changes in these tumors and how to best treat Ewing sarcoma patients.

Eligibility Criteria

Patients of all ages with Ewing sarcoma may be eligible to participate.
Boys: All ages
Girls: All ages

Requirements
Participants will allow tissue samples taken from tumors during normal procedures, as well as blood samples taken during routine draws to be used in the study. Similarly, if bone marrow samples are required for other purposes, marrow samples will also be taken for the study. Samples will be kept at the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Tissue Bank for future research studies.
Visits: None beyond normal treatment
Duration: Not applicable

Status: Open for Enrollment
