Family Emergency Preparedness Plan
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC has created a special Emergency Preparedness Guide (PDF) to help your family learn how to plan ahead and prepare for a sudden emergency or disaster. During an emergency, it’s helpful to know that your family has a plan for extreme circumstances. Families can best cope with a disaster by working as a team and following a pre-determined emergency preparedness plan.
This guide – which is based on information from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – includes important information on how to create an emergency plan for your family, as well as what to do if disaster strikes. While we hope you never need to implement this guide, we do hope you will review it with your family and begin devising an emergency preparedness plan that will help ensure the continued safety of your family.
