Hunger and the drive to eat is a critical factor in the obesity problem. Hyperphagia is the extreme unsatisfied drive to consume food which is a hallmark characteristic of Prader-Will Syndrome and several other disorders, including Alstrom Syndrome, WAGR Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome and Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedel Syndrome.
