Intestinal Care & Rehabilitation Center (ICARE) Registry
Protocol Description
This project collects and monitors information on patients being followed by Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s Intestinal Care & Rehabilitation Center (ICARE). The goal is to identify clinical characteristics of patients with short bowel syndrome, intestinal failure and/or postintestinal transplantation. In addition, the registry will address the need to evaluate the long-term medical and nutritional management issues in these children, and assess clinical outcomes over time to determine the best medical and nutritional therapies for children with intestinal disease and/or postintestinal transplantation.
Eligibility Criteria
The project is currently accepting boys and girls of all ages referred to or cared for by the ICARE staff.
Boys: All ages
Girls: All ages
Requirements
With permission, participation involves inclusion of patients’ identifiable medical information related to intestinal disease and nutritional therapy/status in the registry.
