Innovations in Pediatric Imaging
In the Department of Pediatric Radiology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC – and at the hospital in general – we continuously focus on family-centered care in order to provide an optimal experience for patients and their families.
Many new innovations have taken place in Pediatric Radiology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC with the intent to lessen the anxiety of patients and families, thus reducing the need for sedation during imaging studies.
Advanced cardiac imaging and tractography are procedural techniques that provide enhanced imaging for optimal diagnosis. Creating an environment that places patient sensitivity in the forefront is attained through distraction techniques, sedation techniques and our Adventure Series radiology procedure rooms. The introduction of the Image Gently™ campaign provides further promise that the focus of the Pediatric Radiology Department is on patient care.
