Our Services
Patient Guide
At Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, we’re not just focused on providing great care for your child, we’re also committed to providing the best possible experience for our patients and their families. Our PassportCare services cover countless aspects of an international or out-of-state patient's visit to Pittsburgh.

|
Even after returning home, someone will be available to facilitate clinical and administrative dealings with Children’s Hospital. PassportCare strives to keep your mind on your child by taking care of the non-medical details.
Translation
We make communication easy in any language among patients, families, doctors, caregivers, and hospital staff. That includes translating forms, questionnaires, and other documents. Every PassportCare team member is fluent in at least one language other than English. In addition, our diverse group of doctors and staff includes many native speakers of non-English languages.
Hospitality
Helping you find housing that suits your needs, whether on campus or nearby, is part of our job. We can also recommend restaurants, museums, cultural events and other Pittsburgh attractions.
Transportation
We can arrange for transportation between Pittsburgh International Airport and Children’s Hospital and provide local directions for recreation, shopping, or other activities.
Administration
If you need assistance navigating the business of an extended hospital stay, we can help. Our services include:
- Scheduling appointments and tests
- Guidance through registration and admission
- Interpreting information about costs, billing, and insurance
- Relaying reports of your child’s progress to your physician back home
CarePages
Family members can create a secure, interactive webpage to keep family and friends up-to-date on the condition of a hospitalized child. CarePages are available to all hospitalized children at no cost.
