Our Services

Play Hard Breathe Easy

Help your child stay active with proper asthma and medical care

Through the “Play Hard, Breathe Easy” program, the Pediatric Environmental Medicine Center of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC offers free asthma and medical care.

Asthma is a common condition, but in most cases it can easily be kept under control with medication and lifestyle adjustments. Proper pediatric treatment of asthma can reduce trips to the emergency room as well as prevent school absences for kids and missed work for parents.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is in your neighborhood, making it easier for children and teens with all levels of asthma — mild to severe — to receive the care they need. Doctors and nurses from Children’s Hospital staff the Care Mobile, examining and treating kids with asthma and providing other medical services as well.

Asthma services include:

  • asthma screening
  • asthma treatment and care for mild to severe cases
  • breathing tests
  • physical exams
  • personal asthma education
  • community education classes

Other medical services include:

  • well-child and -infant care
  • sick child visits
  • hearing and vision screenings
  • immunizations
  • adolescent health care
  • school and sports physical exams
  • referrals for specialty care
