Preparing for a Hospital Experience
Preparing a child or teen for a hospital experiences is essential. It will help to reduce their fear of the unknown as well as promote important coping skills that will be needed for the experience. In addition, it will support long term adjustment in the event of future hospital experiences. The Child Life Department at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC strives to support these goals in age and developmentally appropriate ways.
