“When coming to radiology, you receive specialized training. There are a lot of different processes for imaging kids. Being a specialized hospital, you may think that we are overlooked when it comes to receiving the top technology, but in reality we have some of the most cutting edge technology that is available today, like our 64-slice CT scanner.”
“In the new hospital all diagnostic rooms will use DR (Direct/Digital Radiography) technology. We are totally filmless now. We are using the Vocera communication system that allows for wireless voice communication throughout the department.”
“I was at another hospital and the impact I could have there no longer felt challenging or patient centric. I decided to apply for the position I hold here in 2011. I was immediately impressed by the importance placed on my interview and then I was offered the position on my Birthday. I admit that the transition was hard the first few months.. I placed a lot of pressure on myself to be able to perform to my own standards right away. However, I learned that I needed to absorb what I was learning and to let people teach me.
