Proper Protocols for Collecting and Banking Relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Research Specimens

Protocol Description

The purpose of this Children's Oncology Group study is to collect leukemia cells and normal blood cells from patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that has relapsed, so that scientists can analyze them to better understand why some cases of ALL relapse and others don’t. They also want to understand what makes leukemia cells different from normal body cells and whether there are differences between the normal body cells of patients with ALL that has relapsed and those with ALL that has not relapsed.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible candidates include mail and female patients of all ages who have been diagnosed with ALL that has relapsed after previous treatment or while still receiving treatment.
Boys: All ages
Girls: All ages

Requirements
Researchers will collect a small sample of bone marrow and possibly a blood sample from participants diagnosed with relapsed ALL.
Visits: None beyond normal clinical care
Duration: Not applicable
