Ulcerative Colitis Study

Protocol Description

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is currently recruiting subjects to participate in an experimental study for treating children with ulcerative colitis.

Study drug and procedures, (including medical monitoring of your ulcerative colitis symptoms), will be made available to participants at no cost. Compensation will be provided for time and efforts in study participation as well as reimbursement for travel expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates that have been diagnosed with mild to moderate active ulcerative colitis symptoms (inflammation of the large intestine and rectum) will be asked to participate. Patients with severe ulcerative colitis, or known to be intolerant or are allergic to salicylates (e.g,: Bayer, Bufferin, Ecotrin) will not be eligible for this study.

Boys: 5 to 17 years
Girls: 5 to 17 years
