Careers in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology

Do you need pediatric experience to work at Children's?
No. Whether you are interested in working as an audiologist, speech pathologist, or clinical fellow, pediatric experience is not required. You are given extensive training and tools to make the transition to pediatrics as smooth as possible.

Do I have to deal with critically sick children all the time?
No. It is a common misconception that by working at Children's Hospital, you are constantly surrounded by critically ill children. This is not the case. Certainly, assisting sick kids will be a very important part of your job, but you will also assist children who are not in critical danger and simply need normal diagnostic testing and treatment.

What makes the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Department unique at Children's?
As an employee of the Communication Disorders Department, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the art diagnostic equipment. You will be surrounded by a team of individuals dedicated to the care of the children and the support of their families. You also will be exposed to learning and educational opportunities while working with many of the departments throughout the hospital.
