Rhabdomyosarcoma Treatment with Combination Therapy - Phase III

Combination Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Rhabdomyosarcoma

Protocol Description

The goals of this Children's Oncology Group study are to see if a new combination of vincristine, dactinomycin and cyclophosphamide (VAC) plus an additional drug combination of vincristine and irinotecan (VI) is better for treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma than the standard chemotherapy (VAC) alone, and to compare the effects of this new combination. In addition, radiation therapy will be started earlier than the standard treatment regimen.
