| “Everyone’s favorite thing is going tubing on Cheat Lake, and going on the Rave. We have free swim every day, which is great, especially when it’s really hot.” - Ashton, 10-year camp alum |
Camp Chihopi is surrounded by more than 200 acres of trees and mountains, and the camp has a private cove and beach on Cheat Lake. With these beautiful natural surroundings, campers have plenty of opportunities for fun outdoor activities, including boating and tubing, swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, land sports, music activities, cookouts, and the unforgettable “Rave,” which is a water trampoline with a slide.
There is a special all-camp activity on Sunday afternoon and the most popular event, the annual Camp Party is on Sunday night. This year’s theme is “Super Heroes!”
The campers can’t wait to spend time each day at the Aquatics Center. This incredible water play area has a swimming pool with a shallow and deep end that has lap lanes, 2 water slides, and water volleyball nets – and a separate diving pool! There is also a shallow play pool with a waterfall activity for non-swimmers or anyone who just wants to splash! From the water activities, the campers can easily walk to covered and open basketball courts, the Teen Center, shaded rest areas, archery, and the horse stable.
