Department of Pediatrics Annual Report

A Message From the Chair
It is a pleasure for me to introduce the 2011 annual report for the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.The report reflects the amazing work of a very special group of division chiefs and their facultyin the areas of clinical medicine, training and education, research, financial management, andcontributions to the community. I also want to give credit to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh,UPMC, the University of Pittsburgh, and the other departments within the School of Medicinebecause all of the accomplishments outlined in this publication have been facilitated by support from and collaboration with our colleagues at all levels of those institutions. Once again, it’s been such a treat for me to be part of delivering news of so many wonderful accomplishments to improve children’s health in Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, and beyond in 2011.
