Critical Care Transport
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s Critical Care Transport Team offers educational and outreach programs to community hospitals specific to stabilization of critically ill infants and children.
Our goal is to increase our involvement with referral hospitals and to improve the delivery of care through collaboration.
Children’s Transport Team offers a variety of outreach and educational programs, including the following topics:
- asthma and bronchiolitis
- congenital heart disease
- respiratory distress/failure (neonatal and pediatric)
- complex neonatal physiology (gastroschisis, TEF, etc.)
- shock/ multi-system organ failure
We also offer skills labs for IV/fluid management and airway management/respiratory modalities.
If your hospital or unit is interested in an educational program or would like a case presentation of a patient who was transported from your hospital, please contact us and we will be glad to arrange a program.
