Diagnostic Expertise
Advanced testing for the ultimate in care.
The Epilepsy Center at Children’s Hospital’s Brain Care Institute provides its patients technologically advanced neuro imaging resources, including:
- The latest generation magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners
- Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)
- Positron emission tomography (PET)
- Magnetoenchephalography (MEG)
- Magnetic resonance spectroscopy
- Digital video electroencephalography (video EEG) monitoring suites
By utilizing these resources, our neurologists and neurosurgeons often can identify the specific site in a child’s brain that is generating the seizures, determine its role in particular brain functions, and remove the seizure focus that maximally preserves or even enhances the patient’s level of function.
