Student Research Training Program

The Summer Student Research Training Program provides training for both undergraduate and graduate students in Health Sciences who wish to learn the rationale, design strategies, methods and other aspects of biomedical research as research assistants.

Research assistants engage in studies under the direct supervision of investigators who are members of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC's faculty and staff. In addition to the educational benefits, research assistants are also compensated.

The summer 2009 program will run from Monday, June 1, 2009 to Friday, July 24, 2009. Research assistants will have the opportunity to present the results of their research in the form of a mandatory poster presentation on July 22, 2009.
