Family Resource Specialist/Coordinator

Description of Services

The family resource specialist/coordinator addresses the practical needs of families by coordinating transportation and accommodations in and around the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. The coordinator oversees requests for 7th floor critical care parent sleeping rooms and serves as hospital liaison for Ronald McDonald House and Family House. The family resource specialist/coordinator assists with transportation issues on a case-by-case basis via local bus and taxi service. Families requiring meal assistance can get free bag lunches, which they can pick up from the 1st or 3rd floor Information Desks. Each bag lunch has a sandwich, a piece of fruit and drink. Funding for these services is provided through the Family Support Fund, also known as the Schneider Fund, and Pennies from Heaven.
