Description of Services

Children’s Hearing Center provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children with sensorineural hearing impairment. Children are seen as needed by specialists in the following areas:

  • Audiology
  • Diagnostic Referral Service
  • Medical Genetics
  • Laboratory Medicine
  • Neurology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Otolaryngology
  • Radiology
  • Speech Pathology

Services include comprehensive medical evaluation, counseling, amplification (hearing aids) and cochlear implants.

Referral Requirements

Referrals are required from primary care physicians or other Children’s Hospital specialty services. Referrals for patients enrolled in managed care insurance plans also may require authorization from the insurance provider and primary care physician. All necessary referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient’s visit. For accurate provider numbers or more information, please call the office number listed.

Sensorineural hearing loss should be confirmed by audiogram or auditory brainstem response (ABR).
