Hospital Volunteer Program

Our Hospital Volunteer Program is our core volunteer program. We have a variety of roles available seven days a week ranging from direct interaction with children such as reading a book or playing a game, to assisting families find their way around the hospital, or providing other general or administrative support to the organization.

Becoming a Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC volunteer is a serious commitment. We ask a lot of our volunteers. From securing the necessary clearances and background checks, to completing orientation and multi-step training, to fulfilling annual ongoing requirements, our volunteers invest fully to assure that our patients and families are surrounded by a safe, knowledgeable team of volunteers during their hospital experience.

Children’s Hospital volunteer assignments are available at the following locations (assignments available vary by location with the majority of openings at Children’s Main Campus):

Please note that at this time, there are limited weekend and evening volunteer shifts available at all locations.
