Information for Families
Welcome to Children's' Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Web pages. Our BMT team understands the concerns of a family with a child going through the BMT process and is dedicated to helping each family through this course of treatment. With this goal in mind, these pages have been designed to give general information about the BMT process and a brief overview of the BMT Program at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Families going through the BMT process will be given more detailed information by their child’s doctors, nurses and other caregivers.
Whether your child or a child close to you will be receiving a transplant–or whether you simply want to know more about BMT–we hope the information presented here will be helpful. If you have additional questions about topics not answered here, or if you would like to make comments or suggestions about this site, please write to us at BMTkids@chp.edu.
For more information about the BMT process, please visit the pages in this section.
