Infusion Center

Description of Services

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC's Infusion Center is an outpatient service offered to pediatric patients who have intravenous care needs.

The Infusion Center contains private, curtained treatment areas that are equipped with a reclining lounge chair. TVs, Wi-Fi, books, and games are available. The suite provides privacy for the patient while allowing the nurse to conduct close monitoring and observation.

The Infusion Center is designed to provide accessible, convenient outpatient care for a variety of patients receiving regular intravenous infusion treatments for conditions including Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and others.

Treatments administered include intravenous gammaglobulin infusions (IVIG), Remicade, Tysabri, Synergys, Methotrexate, and Solu-Medrol.

In addition to providing regular infusion care, the center also can provide a monitored first infusion before the patient begins his or her home care infusions.

The Infusion Center sees patients by appointment and with a physician's referral. It is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Our Physicians and Staff

The Infusion Center is staffed by dedicated registered nurses with expertise in pediatric infusion. They deliver individualized care in a warm, friendly environment.
