Neurophysiology Laboratory
Description of Services
The Neurophysiology Laboratory provides a full range of neurophysiologic tests for use in assessing diseases of the central nervous system. Procedures and tests include:
- Somatosensory-evoked potentials
- Auditory-evoked potentials
- Visual-evoked potentials
- Evoked magnetic fields
- Endogenous-evoked potentials
- Near-infrared spectroscopy
- Intraoperative monitoring
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) monitoring
- ICU testing
- Transcranial Doppler
- Computerized electroencephalography (EEG)
- Magnetoencephalography (MEG)
Referral Requirements
Referrals are required from primary care physicians or other Children’s Hospital specialty services. Referrals for patients enrolled in managed care insurance plans also may require authorization from the insurance provider and primary care physician. All necessary referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient’s visit. For accurate provider numbers or more information, please call the office number listed. Telephone requests for appointments are preferred.
