Nutrition Counseling, Outpatient
Description of Services
The Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Department provides diet assessment and/or counseling for the child/adolescent and family. Appropriate referrals to this department include:
- Patients who need weight control (for under- or overweight)
- Nutrient intake analysis
- Specific therapeutic diet
- Age-appropriate feeding guidelines
Referral Requirements
Referrals are required from primary care physicians and other Children’s Hospital specialty services. Referrals for patients enrolled in managed care insurance plans may require authorization from the insurance provider and primary care physician.
All necessary referral and authorization forms must be received before the patient’s visit. For accurate provider numbers or more information, please call the office number listed.
