Pediatric Dermatology Fellows
Pediatric dermatology fellows are physicians who have completed their dermatology residency and who are doing one year of highly specialized training in pediatric dermatology. During their pediatric dermatology fellowship training, fellows will diagnose and manage dermatologic diseases for neonates, infants and pediatric patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings, and will teach medical health care professionals regarding pediatric dermatology treatment and care of patients.

Physician Assistants
Physician assistants are medical providers formally trained to practice medicine with physician supervision. Our physician assistants are nationally-certified and licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. They see patients in conjunctions with our physicians and on their own. They are proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of various dermatologic disorders, including but not limited to acne, Accutane treatment, warts, molluscum and eczema.
All of our physician assistants graduated with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Chatham College.

Other Medical Providers
The other members of our medical care team may include dermatology residents and pediatric residents from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Medical Education program, medical students from the University of Pittsburgh or physician assistant students from Chatham College. We follow an academic patient appointment model whereby our new patients are initially seen by a member of our medical care team member and then seen by the attending pediatric dermatologist. Return patients, depending upon the diagnosis, may be seen by the physician assistant, or by one of our medical team members and the attending pediatric dermatologist.
